Contact Lenses
Contact lenses can be a great alternative instead of wearing eyeglasses. The most common types include soft disposable, extended wear disposable, and daily disposable contact lenses. For people with astigmatism, we offer various disposable toric contact lenses. Furthermore, multifocal or bifocal contact lenses are designed for people needing additional help with up-close vision due to presbyopia which is encountered as we age. Sometimes, presbyopic patients may benefit from fitting their contacts as monovision, which can be decided with the optometrist. Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) contact lenses are also available for those needing this design.

Contact Lens Brands
Voss Eyecare provides a variety of contact lenses through major manufacturers which include; Johnson and Johnson, Alcon, Bausch and Lomb, and Coopervision. In addition, by working through independent purchasing groups, Voss Eyecare is competitive with our contact lens prices. We also accept insurance if you have contact lens benefits and you may be eligible for brand rebates only offered through your eye doctor.
Contact Fitting
All contact lenses require a fitting. Fittings can usually be completed in combination with your routine eye exam. The contact lens fitting will determine the type of contacts best suited to you and your lifestyle. The additional testing with Dr. Voss involves measurements of the cornea called Keratometry, time with the optometrist to determine the fit on the eye and visual acuity, plus trial contacts if appropriate.
If you have never worn contact lenses, you will have an initial conversation with the optometrist. New wearers are fit with contacts the same day or trials will be ordered. A separate training session will be completed before going home with contacts. A follow-up contact lens check with Dr. Voss will be scheduled before your contact lens prescription is finalized.
